Message From The Head Sensei
Welcome to Shudokan Judo Club
We believe that Judo is about more than simply learning techniques or winning competitions. Through Judo, we are committed to helping children develop strength, discipline, confidence, good manners, and respect for others.
Established in 1988, Shudokan Judo Club has grown to become the largest Judo club on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, proudly carrying on the authentic spirit and traditions of Japanese Judo. What makes Shudokan special is that students can experience authentic Japanese Judo right here in Hawaiʻi, learning not only traditional techniques but also the etiquette, discipline, philosophy, and cultural values that are deeply rooted in Japanese Judo.
Our goal is not simply to develop strong competitors, but to nurture Judo practitioners who are strong in both body and mind—individuals who work hard, support their teammates, and face challenges with courage and determination.
We hope that the lessons our students learn at Shudokan will extend far beyond the dojo and become a source of strength and guidance throughout their lives.
As part of the Shudokan family, we are truly grateful for the opportunity to work together with parents and families to support the growth and development of every child.
